The cacao fruit

The cacao fruit consists of four parts: cocoa beans (used in chocolate production, for example), cocoa bean shells (undesirable in chocolate production), cacao pulp (needed for bean fermentation, but a certain amount can be removed without disrupting the process) and the outer hard shell. While the first three aforementioned parts of the cocoa fruit are edible, the outer hard shell is not suitable for human consumption.

TFJC Foods’ products enable the full utilisation of the edible parts of the cacao fruit. The ANOFOMA Group, a sister organisation of the AFOODS Group, further processes the inedible parts of the cacao fruit into non-food products.

D2C products: These include our innovative pioneer products, such as KOKOJOO soft drinks made from cocoa bean shells and cocoa fruit juice, cocoa juice (PULPACO), fibre-rich cocoa fruit foods (PELUVITA), cocoa fruit snacks (PUSCO DE CACAO or PICE PELUS) and cocoa fruit concentrate made from cocoa bean shells and cocoa juice (CONCENCAO). Our D2C range also includes chocolate made from cocoa fruit (SKLAAT) and cocoa fruit confectionery (AIME’s Sokola).

B2B ingredients: For industrial applications in the B2B sector, TFJC Foods offers ingredients such as cocoa fruit juice, cocoa fruit juice concentrate and cocoa bean shell powder under the AUFI TFJC SUTA brand for use in developing own-brand products (e.g. in beverages, confectionery, baked goods or ice cream).
